EPF must be utilised for the sole benefit of the nation poor work force and not any other organisation. It would appear that the Government is treating EPF as a financial ambulance for the stock market and certain selected GLCs. Last week the Government has utilized RM5 billion from EPF to bail out Valuecap in order to support the stock market. Second Finance Minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop has the cheek to give assurance that the RM5 billion loan given by EPF would reap profit. No one seems to know what Valuecap, a new corporate entity, is and who is behind this new entity.

Here is part of my speech delivered today, 21 October 2008, on the Judicial Service and Legal Service which are under the realm of The Attorney General Judicial Service consisting of all the Judges in the Session Court and Magistrate Court.
Why change the name of Jalan Alor?
There are certain things we just don’t do. Like changing the name of a street that’s already well-known in the world and a must-visit destination for tourists. Jalan Alor, famous for the wide variety of tasty and reasonably priced food up and down both sides of the street, was such a street that was unnecessarily renamed Jalan Kejora by DBKL recently. Many people are not happy with the change and they are speaking up against it.

The residents of Platinum Hill Condo had had months of restless and sleepless nights. They had also lodged complaints against Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd for continuously flouting the law by carrying out construction work past working hours and during Sundays and public holidays but Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL just ignored their complaints.

The internet, like most tools, has its positive side and negative one.
It is positive when one uses it to be productive in one’s work and hobby, helps one increase knowledge, communicate and share information for the benefit of society. On the other hand it will be bad use of the technology if one uses the internet to add further to or give rise to new social problems.

What's up DBKL with Platinum Victory?
Why issue Platinum Victory warning and at the same time give the company immunity from actions?
In September 2008 DBKL had given warning to Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd that the permitted working hours are from 8 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday and if Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd contravened the said condition then DBKL will issue a “Stop Work Order” for the project. It is a fact that for the past one week Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd had been working until very late at night (sometimes well past midnight) and yesterday (Sunday) the company was carrying out construction work the whole day. These are clear violations of the DBKL conditions on permitted working hours.
