The broken fence that caused two deaths in the mining pool!

This mining pool can be turned into a beautiful recreational area

On 20th January, 2010 two Indonesians went fishing in the mining pool in Danau Kota Setapak, Wangsa Maju.  They drowned after their boat capsized. On the day I heard about the incident, I immediately visited the site. I managed to speak to the search parties consisting of officers from Jabatan Pertahanan Awam, DBKL and Jabatan Bomba, who have been working round the clock to find the bodies. I am informed by the search parties that the two unfortunate Indonesians must have got access to the mining pool through the broken fence.

As a matter of goodwill, the Government should pay for the repair bills of the affected churches

All patriotic, sensible and law abiding Malaysians should condemn in the strongest terms the savage, disgusting and seditious damage of churches today. This unruly action runs contrary to teachings of all religion which advocate peace, respect and accommodation.

Once again the Government and Polis Diraja Malaysia have failed to uphold and protect the interest of Malaysians. As a matter of goodwill, the government  should foot the repair bills of all churches that were damaged by the rioters who had committed an act of treason and they should be brought to book.

I was shocked to learn that early this morning three churches had been attacked by criminals. The administrative office of the Metro Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Desa Melawati in Wangsa Maju was badly damaged by fire. There were attempted arsons on two other churches namely Assumption (near Asunta Hospital) and the Life Chapel (Section 17 PJ). These three incidents must be condemned by all peace loving Malaysians.

We had a meeting with Professor Jomo Kwame Sundaram (Jomo K S), who was a former professor in Malaysia. He has been appointed Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development in the UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs since January 2005.
