Your MP's Question of the Week #55

Update, 20 May, 9.40am: Correction – The dead were identified as an Indian and a Malay and not as highlighted earlier. Newspapers reported today that both were ex-detainees of Simpang Rengam. Error regretted.
Breaking News, 19 May, 9.00pm:
Two Indian males were shot dead in Damansara Kim, after a car chase, by the police from the serious crime division. (I happened to be in the vicinity having dinner with my family.)

The last few years had witnessed our crime rate in the country getting higher and higher. And of late, “criminals” are being shot dead at crime scenes or during hot police pursuits, without the blink of an eye. These ardent police hard-works naturally have almost resulted in them becoming hot news items daily in the newspapers.

Installation of telco antennas on top of shops, apartments and houses …

Pemasangan antena syarikat telefon bimbit di atas kedai, rumah pangsa dan rumah …

装置电话中枢办公室于商店、公寓和房屋上方…

In my constituency, Wangsa Maju, and many other areas, it is noted that a great number of telco antennas and dishes have been sprouting up all over the place and they are uncomfortably close to the rakyat’s homes or places of work.

Yew Teong Look has no shame!

ytlthrowchairIt’s a case of Lembu Punya Susu and a Sapi trying to Dapat Nama!

Update, 29 April 2009:
This morning at about 10:30 a.m. officers from Jabatan Perancang Bandar came with tractor and lorries to demolish the telco tower. I am informed that the top part of the tower consisting of iron structures was dismantled last night by the company which constructed it. The dismantling job was carried out in the middle of the night until 5:30 am this morning. I am now informed that the company that built this illegal structure is STEALTH SOLUTIONS SDN BHD with its office in Damansara Heights. I have written to Jabatan Perancang to enquire about the cost of the demolition and who will be paying for it. I am also asking Jabatan Perancang to clarify: why its “Flying Squad” was not aware of such illegal construction on government land?

Note: In future, before approving the location and construction of such telco towers, it’s crucial that DBKL must ensure that the health of the public is safeguarded. It would also be interesting to know if there are any more telco towers that had been constructed illegally and are still in operation.

Update, 25 April 2009:
This is the picture of the telco tower that this dubious and unscrupulous character and
MCA chairman for Wangsa Maju, Yew Teong Look, was claiming credit for in the newspapers and TV for work that he didn’t even lift a finger to do.

Here is the Notice To Demolish …

notice1

In early April 2009 I received a public complaint from the residents in Wangsa Maju about a certain Telco Tower that was erected in Section 2 Wangsa Maju. I immediately did some investigation into the matter and on or about 10 April 2009 it was confirmed that the said Telco Tower was erected without any Planning Permission from Jabatan Perancang DBKL.

Press Statement, 21 April 2009, Kuala Lumpur

Re: DAP’s anger over the announcement of the resignation of Mohammad Fairus, the Penanti State Assemblyman

Press Release by Wee Choo Keong, MP for Wangsa Maju, a Member of PKR Supreme Council and Deputy Chairman for PKR Wilayah Persekutuan on 21 April 2009 in Kuala Lumpur

———————————————————————————————-

I can understand that Tony Pua, the DAP information chief, had to go all out to defend his political master, Lim Guan Eng. I also agree with Tony Pua that Lim Guan Eng had the right to express his disagreement over the failure by the national PKR leadership to inform him of the resignation of Mohammad Fairus as state representative for Penanti state seat on April 16.
