Wangsa Maju thank the Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, for responding on behalf of the residents in Danau Kota on the above matter, in response to our letter to Tuan Pengarah of Jabatan Pengurusan Pembangunan Penjaja Dan Penjaja Kecil, DBKL dated 17 Ogos 2010. It’s a matter that has long been a thorn in the residents’ waking and sleeping hours.

At a meeting on 22 July 2010 with all Members of Parliaments whose constituencies are located within Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Bandar Yg Bhg Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad B. Ismail had categorically stated that the major upgrade of Jalan Genting Klang must be fully completed by 18 November 2010 as scheduled.
Wangsa Maju had been informed that the contractor, Mentari Construction Sdn Bhd, had tried to ask for an extention of the completion date to be the end of the year 2011. Datuk Bandar was not agreeable to the request and insisted that all projects under the 9th Malaysia Plan must be completed within the period.
This is an update of a meeting with Datuk Bandar and the Members of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, 22 July 2010, at DBKL head office. Some of the issues discussed, with reference to Wangsa Maju, are as follows:-
1. Cybercafes
It is reported that todate actions have been taken against 4 outlets to help stem the rise of social ills in Wangsa Maju which include online gambling, porn viewing and loan-sharking activities associated with these outlets. Datuk Bandar, however, feels that more could be done as Wangsa Maju is highly populated and covers a vast geographical area. To show his commitment to Wangsa Majuians and their families that he has their welfare at heart, he has decided to declare “war against cybercafés” not only in our ‘kawasan’ but also throughout Kuala Lumpur. DBKL officers are reminded to monitor and enforce this policy on a continuous basis to help promote, protect and preserve the healthy social environment of our city.
Datuk Pengurusi
Saya bagun untuk mengambil bahagian dalam perbahasan peringkat Jawantankuasa mengenai Kementerian Kewangan di bawah Maksud Bekalan B 10, 11 dan 12, Butiran 010100 (Pengurusan Am), 12000 Institut jantung Negara dan 020800 (Pemberian Khas kepada Wilayah Persekutuan) dan 02100 (KL International Airport Bhd).
Saya igin merujuk kepada Objektif-Objektif Kementerian Kewangan mengenai dengan Pengurusan Am di bawah (a) Memastikan perkhidmatan sokongan diberikan kepada bahagian-bahagian di Perbendaharaan untuk membolehkan bahagian-bahagian ini menjalankan operasinya dengan lancar dan sempurna; (d) Memastikan dasar Kerajaan untuk mengawal dan mengurangkan perjudian dilaksanakan dengan berkesan; dan (e) Memastikan dasar prosedur dan peraturan kewangan serta program/aktiviti diuruskan secara ekonomik dan berkesan serta memebri khidmat kepada agensi-agensi di bawah Kementerina Kewangan.
The present Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur, Yg Bhg Dato’ Ab Hakim Borhan, will be retiring at the end of this month. There was speculation that Yg Bhg Dato’ Ab Hakim Borhan will be extended for another two years.
In the light of my letter of complaint against En Mohd Yusof Alwi, the Pengarah of Jabatan Bangunan, to Datuk Bandar KL, Datuk Bandar KL has instructed Yg Bhg Datuk Salleh Yusuf to chair a special meeting today (31 October 2008) on the *28th Floor DBKL*, Jalan Raja Laut, at 3 pm to discuss and resolve several issues raised in my letters of complaint against the said En Mohd Yusof Alwi with regards to the Stop Work Order dated 19 October 2008 issued against Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd and the subsequent lifting of the said Stop Work Order on 23 October 2008, where the complainants were specifically not informed of that secret meeting on 22 October 2008 between the said En Mohd Yusof Bin Alwi, the developer, its architect, contractor and the so-called resident association representative. YB Datuk Saravan, the Deputy Minister for Wilayah Persekutuan will also be attending this meeting on behalf of the Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan.
Pemudah, the special task force set up to facilitate business, has “adopted” Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) with immediate effect to make it more customer-friendly and improve its delivery services.
