The RM100 million mega defamation suit filed.

The Bar Council president, Mr Christopher Leong said it was good not to allow the plaintiff in such cases to quantity the amount of damages.  “When the plaintiff quantifies the damages in a manner wholly excessive in the statement of claim, it may be oppressive against the defendant and may become an instrument to threaten the defendants.

Rahimi’s first SD did not implicate anyone but cannot be located

The Press Conference

Now that Latheefa Koya has implicated me in the scandals surrounding the circumstances under which the Statutory Declaration (SD) of En Muhammad Rahimi bin Osman (Rahimi), one of the young former aides of YB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was obtained. I am compelled to respond to the immature and thoughtless acts of this desperate PKR young upstart who was trying so hard to implicate me in order to save herself from being prosecuted under the Penal Code for the subsequent SD of Rahimi purportedly sworn on July 1, 2008, two days after the first SD was sworn before me on June 29, 2008.

Press Release by Wee Choo Keong, MP for Wangsa Maju, on 18 May 2010

In Response To PAS Youth in Wangsa Maju

In 1973 PAS joined BN and fought the 1974 General Elections under the BN ticket, many PAS MPs, including Tok Guru YAB Datuk Hj Nik Aziz Nik Mat were elected. In 1977 PAS resigned from BN but none of the PAS MPs resigned so that by-elections can be held. At that time there was no prohibition under the law that when a MP resigned he or she could not stand as a candidate again in the by-election. PAS should have shown their leadership then by resigning as MPs and not calling others to do so.

PAS Youth in Wangsa Maju conveniently did not touch on my statement of yesterday over the stand taken by Tok Guru. Is it PAS’s policy to “Please don’t follow what PAS leaders did or do but follow what they preached or preach?” I don’t believe that this is the policy of PAS otherwise it will be most shameful to have such a policy when PAS always pride itself of being very Islamic, righteous and democratic. I believe that PAS will not condone double standard, corruption or corrupt practices and “sweeping under the carpet” allegations of corruption or corrupt practices whether in the PR or BN administration. Perhaps PAS Youth in Wangsa Maju do not share such policies and aspirations as PAS’s main body. Maybe PAS Youth in Wangsa Maju was misguided and led by the nose by the equally misguided.

Who are the actual traitors?

MEDIA STATEMENT BY YB DATUK SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

11 August 2009
UMNO leadership is vigorously spreading propaganda that manipulates symbols of race, religion and royalty with the intention of perpetuating narrow-minded views on communal relations. This is not the first time that I have become been branded a Malay traitor.
There have been many similar attempts in the past and this latest effort is a clear indication of UMNO’s increasing level of desperation.
I have no intention of being drawn into a personal dispute with Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiuddin Yassin.  I only intend to respond to this issue based on facts and principles.  It is important for me to stress that my views and Pakatan Rakyat’s position is very clear despite not being covered in the UMNO controlled mainstream media.
