It would appear that the defacto CEO of MAS is Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, who is also the Deputy CEO of AirAsia Bhd and recently appointed Non-Executive Director of MAS after the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap was inked on 9-8-2011. Yours truly was surprised that a Non-Executive Director of MAS was speaking as though he is the CEO of MAS. Even the powerful En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, the whiz kid and Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar‘s former business partner in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, is extremely tame after the appointment of En Ahmad Jauhari as the CEO of MAS.
Bursa KL: Take drastic actions against the directors of MAS & Tune Air
Prior to the inking of the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap and the “Collaborative Frameworks” agreements , both MAS and Tune Air Sdn Bhd did not make any announcement that they were negotiating for the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap. TUAN WEE CHOO KEONG [ WANGSA MAJU ] minta MENTERI KEWANGAN menyatakan sama ada Suruhanjaya Sekuriti (SC) sedar bahawa sebelum penggantungan saham AirAsia Bhd (AA) dan MAS daripada urusniaga pada 09.08.2011, saham AA telah meningkat naik dari tarikh 20.07.2011 dengan “unprecedented trend” dan seterusnya, namun harga saham bagi MAS menurun dan harga saham AA ditutup pada RM3.95 dan MAS RM1.60 dan apabila (perkataan “selepas” tercicir) penggantungan tersebut harga saham AA menurun dan saham MAS meningkat.

Deputy Finance Minister told Parliament: MAS-AirAsia share swap based on share price on 5-8-2011
YB Datuk Awang Adek, the Deputy Finance Minister told Parliament during Questions Time that MAS – AirAsia share swap of 20.5% MAS share against 10% AirAsia Bhd was based on closing price of both share counters on 5-8-2011. The Deputy Minister also told Parliament that said share swap was all about “KERJASAMA”/Co-operations between the two airlines. But he could not elaborate what he meant by “Kerjasama”/co-operation. He also said the public will be told of the “Kerjasama” from time to time. Why from time to time? Why not do a tell-all now. Are there anything to hide, Mr Deputy Finance Minister?
