On 26-1-2015 Tony Fernandez, the CEO of AirAsia issued a press statement that AirAsia was abolishing fuel surcharge for its flights.  BK Sidhu, the Star Business Editor, went on an overdrive to assist in the spinning of the said announcement to put AirAsia in the good light during this particular period.  Prior to the crash of the unauthorised AirAsia’s flight QZ8501, Tony and/or AirAsia have been enjoying positive stories from BK Sidhu, the editor of Star Business.

Now Everyone Want Suspension of Azhari After Air Turn Back of Firefly

This early morning Firefly flight FY 1002 (codeshare with MAS flight MH 9948) bound for Kota Bharu from Penang had to do an air turn back due to faulty landing gear.  Thank God, FY 1002 landed in Penang safely.

Updates @ 9:30 pm on 19-9-2013:  On 15-9-2011 The MD of Khazanah Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar has been quoted to have said that “The recently inked home jersey sponsorship with Barclay Premier club Queen Park Rangers is a good deal for the national carrier”. He also told newsman that “We think that we got a good deal to stand on its own commercially.  I think all the numbers are there, we just need to add value”.  Read HERE

Yours truly believe that at that material time many Malaysians also share the same thoughts as Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, who is a known to be a corporate GURU in Malaysia.  Many have claimed that Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar through his BinaFikir‘s “WAU” had also saved MAS from the brink.  Please read below the events after 18-8-2011 where MAS was supposed to pay £3.2 million more than AirAsia for the said sponsorship and got less for it.  Was it a good deal after all?

MAS to operate three international routes from KK in Dec 2012

 

In December 2012 MAS to operate three additional international routes from Kota Kinabalu. Yours truly believes that East Malaysians will be pleased with the decisions. MAS should also consider to resume the Bandung and Surabaya routes, which were terminated soon after the inking of the infamous MAS-AirAsia share swap by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah. MAS should also commence its Firefly jet services, which was also terminated after the said share swap.

AirAsia shouldn’t delay to terminate all its agreements with MAS

“Low-cost carrier AirAsia Bhd wants to opt out of all joint-venture agreements with national carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS), a source says. AirAsia decided at a board meeting last week that it would seek to terminate its agreements with MAS soon, according to the source, in HERE.
