Yours truly has been reliably informed that only the extremely learned and independent Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), YB Datuk Nur Jazlan, and YB Tony Pua, who was the CEO of a Cyber Village Holdings Ltd in Singapore, were dominating in the PAC meeting held on 28-4-2014.  It must be noted that YB Tony Pua has been known to have been following up on issues raised by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes on KLIA2 especially on the so-called cost overrun and delay.

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is a Select Committee set up by Parliament. Its role is to overseeing or scrutinising government expenditures approved by Parliament.  Generally, in the Westminster style of Parliament like ours, by convention PAC normally take up matters raised in the Auditor-General (AG)’s Report.

Updates: 12-03-2012 @ 9:15 pm:  TV3 prime time news at 8:00 pm also gave a lengthy report with regards to the news of “reversing or cancellation” of the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and CCF. Of course, Khazanah headed by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the ex founder of BianFikir Sdn Bhd refused to comments on the news. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes of AirAsia Bhd, AirAsia X Sdn Bhd and Tune Air Sdn Bhd has tweeted to say that he was not aware of the said news.

Yours truly has read an interesting article in Utusan today at page 18 with the headline “Perjanjian MAS, AirAsia batal?”. It said “sebelum ini, pertukaran saham antara syarikat penerbangan itu menimbulkan banyak polemik sehingga Suruhanjaya Sekuriti (SC) dan Bursa Malaysia terpaksa menjalankan siasatan.” The most interesting of all is “… bahawa kerjasama hanya memberi keuntungan besar kepada AirAsia.” (“… that the said co-operation only benefited AirAsia.”). MAS paid 8 month bonus in 2010 to Firefly staff!

The key players in the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and the so-called Comprehensive Collaborative Framework.

On 21-11-2011 MAS MD, En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (AJ), told the Public Account Committee (PAC) in the presence of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the ex-business partner of Rashdan when they were in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, that Firefly made a loss of RM89 million! Yours truly has been reliably informed that as a mark of appreciation of the Firefly’s overall staff performance last year, MAS management rewarded members of staff of Firefly with bonuses from as high as 8 month and as low as 4 month salaries based on their respective performance.
