Yours truly has been alerted by Anak Malaysia that a Petition Campaign has been launched against the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and the “Comprehensive Collaborative Framework” (CCF). The said secret share swap and CCF were the brainchild of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, and his ex-business partner of BinaFikir Sdn Bhd and crony, En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof a.k. Danny (Rashdan). After a short span of 8 years BinaFikir Sdn Bhd was sold to Maybank Bhd for a whooping RM8 million!
In the story of Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) having filed a suit against AirAsia for its misleading pricing in its website, AFP has stated that AirAsia could not be reached for comment. This was most unusual by AirAsia’s standard. Read in HERE. However, a few days later, AirAsia has responded with a press release stating that “… we took corrective action and are focussed on ensuring that our customers have all relevant information on our fares…” For full report please read inHERE. MAS cabin crews and others have worked so hard for MAS & yet not appreciated. But the Panamera Dead Woods are awarded with high salaries and BIG perks!

Updated @ 10:45 am 5-12-2011: MAS used to have daily return direct flights between Sandakan and Kuala Lumpur, then Firefly came in to serve this route, so MAS stopped doing it. This was decided by the new management of MAS under En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, the ex-business partner ofTan Sri Azman Mokhtarwhen they were inBinaFikir Sdn Bhd.
The Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datuk Edward Khoo has expressed disappointment at the decision to reduce the number of airlines operating direct flights between Sandakan to Kuala Lumpur.
“Lately Firefly has also withdrawn its service and we are now left with only AirAsia serving this route.I still remember that when MAS and AirAsia had a share swap, it was clearly announced that this swap would not create a monopoly for air travel.This particular route between Sandakan and Kuala Lumpur has now become amonopoly (by AirAsia),” said Datuk Edward Khoo. Now that the meeting between Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and Tan Sri Bashir of MAHB was just a rumour where Tan Sri Bashir was supposed to be given the boot. Lets hope that the sacking of Tan Sri Bashir was a mere figment of imagination. Lets return to the problems in MAS where Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar’s ex-business partner in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, En Mohammed Rashdan Yusfof aka Danny, was in the centre of many controversial decisions in MAS.

Updated @ 12 noon 2-12-2011: Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, MD of Khazanah, has been extremely quiet over the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap, CCF and the constant attacks against MAHB by the Spin Doctor. Rummour has it that Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar has summoned Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad, the MD of MAHB, to a meeting at 6 pm on Saturday (3-12-2011) in Khazanah HQ. Going by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar’s stand during the meeting with bloggers on 16-8-2011 that “Tan Sri Bashir has done a brilliant job in MAHB”, yours truly wild guess is Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar would want to back Tan Sri Bashir to stand firm and not allow MAHB to be pushed around by the Spin Doctor.
Yours truly knew as a matter of fact that the Spin Dr is a good friend of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar but professionalism shall prevail. It will be interesting to see what is going to happen after the said meeting.
Yours truly also hopes that Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar will also advise Tan Sri Bashir not to allow any airline to owe Airport Tax and to take immediate actions to stop all facilities in the airport if an airline does not pay up the Airport Tax within two weeks and that MAHB should also take actions to demand for payment of the Airport Taxes totaling RM6.895 million held by AirAsia and AirAsia X Sdn Bhd for the “untravelled passengers”.ReadHERE.

Updated @ 12:30 am 22-11-2011: Tan Sri Azman Mokthar, the MD of Khazanah Nasional Bhd in his briefing to PAC yesterday morning and acknowledged that they were 50 verbal and written questions raised by 36 MPs in Parliament. Yours truly regretted and apologized that a new posting cannot be done with regards to what Tan Sri Azman Mokthar and En Ahmad Jauhari, MAS MD, have told PAC with regards to the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and the so-called Collaborative framework on 21-11-2011. Yours truly was too elated that Malaysia won the SEA Game Football Championship. Cheers to Harimau Muda! The Harimau Muda under the leadership of Mr Ong Kim Sew have made the nation proud. Updated on 18-11-2011: YB Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister of Transport, said yesterday that the Cabinet had approved the increase in charges in February 2009 and the delay in imposing the new rates had caused the tax payers RM180 millions a year in subsidizing international travelers. There had been a lot of other increases done by the airlines quietly and nobody is making noise, said the Minister in respond to Dr Spinner’s dissatisfaction through the social media. Read HERE for the increases in AirAsia’s hidden charges. The Government should stop entertaining private airlines’ business model just for them to make profits at the expense of tax payers.
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes’ (Tony) contention is that the RM7.oo increase is too much to pay for LCCT which he likens to an “airconditioned horse stable” on Twitter. The hike also affect travelers and he claimed that it was unjustified and that it would affect his business. He said on Twitter. “…RM25 for services in LCCT? What a rip off! It’s an air-conditioned horse stable!’ He said on his Faebook, “AirAsia has been fighting to make them cheaper for common man. Airport taxes are paid by Malaysians and passengers. The money doesn’t go to AirAsia but MAHB.”

During the Committee Stage of the Budget Debate today, many MPs of all divides spoke strongly against the secret MAS – Asia share swap.
YB Hajah Nancy bt Hj Shukri (MP for Batang Sadong, Sarawak), YB Datuk Hj Muhamad bin Hj Aziz (MP for Sri Gading, Johor), Datuk Bung Moktar (MP for Kinabatagan, Sabah), YB Datuk Wira Hj Ahmad bin Hj Hamzah (MP for Jasin, Melaka), YB Datuk Dr Makin @ Marcus Majigoh (MP for Putatan, Sabah) yours truly and other MPSquestioned the rationale and condemned the said secret share swap, the so-called “Collaborative Frameworks” and Tan Sri Tony Fernandes’ instance of his AirAsia outfits would not use the aerobridge in the new KLIA-2.

AirAsia X has been open about the RAS issue. All our accounts have been audited by the Auditor-General’s Office. If there remains dissatisfaction, we are more than happy to have the Public Accounts Committee go through the accounts again.
Time and time again, you have repeated your baseless allegations. Yet, each time we suggest a face-to-face meeting, you have refused to accept our offer.
The last straw is dragging my late mother into this issue. There is no need to get personal. I am sure you would not want anyone to denigrate your family members as well.

“Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has denied that AirAsia benefited from the RM249 mil in Government subsidies paid to Fly Asian Xpress (FAX) for rural air service operations four years ago.
