When the allegations against AirAsia for discriminating against the disabled persons had quieten down, 6 years later AiraAsia started to charge disabled passengers RM120 for one way and RM240 return for wheelchair services, HERE.

Updates @ 3 pm 7-1-2014: A disabled person called yours truly to publish the actual cost for using the wheelchair per trip so that the Government and the Ministry of Transport will be made aware of how AirAsia treated its disabled passengers. He was hoping that the Government will put a stop to this high charges as a form of indirectly discriminating against disabled person from travelling on AirAsia flights.
It cost a disabled person RM120 for one way and RM240 return trip for using the wheelchair service from AirAsia. It is to be noted that wheelchair service from check-in to the aircraft is provided by all airlines. Thank you MAS for providing free wheelchair service to its disabled passengers. Syabas MAS!
It was most shocking to learn that AirAsia is charging disabled person RM60 if he or she needs to use the wheelchair. Such astronomical charges amounted to indirect discrimination against the disabled person. It was reported in Sarawak Tribune. Please see below for the said report .

Part 1 was about the inking of the said MAS -AirAsia share swap with the advice from Datuk Seri Nazir Razak / CIMB and Bain & Co, HERE and Part 2 was the chronology of events after the said share swap before the appointment of AJ as Group CEO of MAS, HERE.

The highly acclaimed journalist of the Business Star aka the promoter for AirAsia, B K Sidhu, on 18-6-2013 wrote in her column prior to the closing of the AirAsia X Bhd IPO that AirAsia X IPO will be over-subscribed by THREE to FOUR TIMES! For full report in HERE and article in HERE.

For the last 3 months apparently Terminal 3 at the Subang International Airport had been undergoing a massive transformation without much of the public being informed.
We hardly hear of this project in the mainstream media and the rakyat would be amazed how this seeming Home to Berjaya Air and Firefly, both budget airlines, would be accorded a contemporary and classy terminal soon. Perhaps this could also have been one of the reasons why Tony Fernandes had been so relentlessly pushy for his KLIA East @ Labu.
The “Rakyat’s Terminal” which Tony Fernandes apparently – in his fits of creativity and savvy marketing – had created, branded and tried pandering the term to the people in reference to KLIA East @ Labu had today received one of the loudest and most resounding “NO”s against the project.
Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes told Malay Mail (13 January 2009) that no tax payers’ money will be used to finance the KLIA-East project.
“AMOUNT OWED TO MAHB SETTLED” so say Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes, the AirAsia Group chief executive officer. (See page 39 NST, 29 August 2008)
I am really glad to read such good news for the country that AirAsia has settled its debts with Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB).
Minister of Transport’s reply to the issue that I have brought up concerning the debts owed by AirAsia to MAHB and the upgrading project of LCCT, which was awarded to Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd totaling RM123.9 million.
