At long last AirAsia X Bhd will finally be listed in Bursa Kuala Lumpur very soon. On 10-6-2013 AirAsia X Bhd has made an official announcement of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) of up to 790,123,500 ordinary shares of RM0.15 in the main Board of Bursa Kuala Lumpur (BSKL).  The retail price of the IPO is RM1.45, which is almost 10 times above its par value. Based on its retail price it would appear that AirAsia X Bhd is a rock solid company with big “dreams” otherwise its IPO price would not have been fixed at RM1.45!

AirAsia & AirAsia X have not handed over unclaimed airport taxes to MAHB

Say No
There was a campaign by AirAsia against the increase of airport tax, which is a revenue to the Government to maintain and upgrade our airports.

All airport authorities through out the world have imposed airport tax. AirAsia (AA) was the only airline with the ability to owe airport tax and other charges to the tune of over RM132 million. When yours truly brought up the issue in Parliament a few years ago, AA finally settled it with a discount of RM25 million as “incentive” by the then Minister of Transport, in HERE.

Tuan Azahari Mohd Dahlan, the former AirAsia officer that was parachuted into MAS after the infamous MAS-AirAsia share swap. He is the only former AirAsia officer left in MAS.

Tuan Azahari Dahlan, the ex-AirAsia Regional Head of Engineering, and appointed the CEO of MAS Aerospace Engineering (MAE) after the infamous aborted MAS-AirAsia share swap, is said to be the most qualified person in term of “seniority and qualifications” in MAE to hold the post of CEO. Unfortunately, up to this date this Tuan Azahari Dahlan is still keeping very quiet about the possibility of MAE entering into another joint venture with SR Technics or other entities. Yours truly has posted about the possible joint venture with S R Technics, in HERE.

Azahari Dahlan: Was SRT’s statement referring to a possible joint venture with MAS?

En Azahari Dahlan, the former Head of AirAsia Engineering, the now CEO of MAS Engineering
Tuan Azahari Dahlan, the former Regional Head of AirAsia Engineering. He is said to be the most HIGHLY qualified CEO of MAS Engineering of all times.

Tuan Azahari Dahlan, who was formerly the Regional Head of AirAsia Engineering and parachuted into MAS Engineering during the infamous MAS – AirAsia share swap, is the most qualified person in MAS Engineering to hold the post of the CEO. Rumour has it that he manages MAS Engineering like a well maintained engine and has also gained lots of respect within MAS Engineering for his great leadership. The pertinent question is, had MAS Engineering, under this highly qualified Tuan Azahari Dahlan, learn the lesson from all its failed joint ventures over the last two decades?

AirAsia’s X’mas Big Sale!

AirAsia's advertisement for tickets sale well after 31 March 2013 (see parts marked with arrow)
AirAsia’s ads for tickets sale well after 31 March 2013 (see parts marked with arrow). This advertisement appeared in the Star on 28-11-2012. Is this advertisement misleading?

17-12-2012 @6:30 pm: Yours truly has been informed by YB Datuk Ismail Sabri, Minister of Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, that his Ministry has taken the necessary actions to stop AirAsia  from selling of tickets beyond 31 March 2013 as AirAsia’s AOC is only valid until 31 March 2013.

It has been widely reported in the newspapers recently that the Air Operation Certificate (AOC) of AirAsia has been granted by Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) for a six month period until March 31, 2013 due to failure to meet the regulatory requirement as reported in HERE. Normally, OAC is granted to an airline for a two years period. Up to this date, the said press report by the Sun Daily and New Strait Times have not been refuted by the management of AirAsia or denied by Minister of Transport or DCA.

MOF II: MAS paid RM600,000 only for re-branding and designing fee for new MAS logo to Landor Associates & Ogilvy and Mather!

En Al-Ishal Ishak, the former SVP Marketing & Promotion of MAS. He resigned in September 2012 and joined AirAsia

Updates on 23-10-2012: YB Datuk Awang Adek, the Deputy Minister of Finance, was replying to the points raised by MPs during the Committee Stage Budget 2013 debate this evening. He was unable to furnish Parliament with all the replies as he was not well and he has promised to provide written replies to all the points raised during the said debate. However, he managed to speak for about an hour. He did inform Parliament that a Special Task Force headed by the Attorney-General has collected all the information regarding the foreign fund from Mr George Sorros that was subsequently given to Suaram and Malaysiakini and asked MPs to wait for the actions to be taken on this matter. Yours truly will publish once yours truly has been given the reply on the points raised on the consultancy fees paid to Landor Associates and Ogilvy & Mather.

Yours truly has been questioning about the consultancy fees paid by MAS to Landor Associates and Ogilvy & Mather but the top management of MAS is not only keeping mum but hiding behind non-disclosure or secrecy clause in the agreement.   For the background information please read in   HERE. The re-branding of MAS was done in a haste without the approval of the Board  when En Al-Ishal Ishak was the  SVP Marketing and Promotion.  Yours truly has been informed by reliable sources that En Al-Ishal Ishak who left MAS last month has recently joined AirAsia.

AJ’s “People Engagement Survey” should be supported

To do the right thing, MAS had to put transparency and free flow of information as its agenda within MAS. For a start, AJ should tell us how much did MAS pay to Ogilvy & Mather and Landor Associates for its re-branding exercise and designing of the new pale blue logo of MAS.

Yours truly is glad that En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (AJ as he is popularly known in and out of MAS) has heard the voices of MAS staffs loud and clear in his latest circular/e-mail below. It would appear from the said circular/e-mail that AJ wanted to instill a new spirit in MAS  which should be supported by all.
