Updates on 23-6-2013 @ 9:45 pm: Asia Pulp & Paper aka APP is a Singapore based company.  It is founded by Eka Tjipta Widjaja, who had significant tie to the family of the ex-President of Indonesia, the late General Suharto.  It was known to have appointed the PR firm  Ogilvy & Mather to improve on its green image. Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings Limited, aka APRIL, is a developer of fibre plantations and the owner of one of the world’s largest pulp and paper mills with operations mainly in Indonesia and ChinaAPRIL is part of the Indonesian Raja Garuda Mas Group and owned by Indonesian business man Sukanto Tanoto living in Singapore. Raja Garuda Mas Group or conglomerate RGE Royal Golden Eagle or Royal Golden Eagle International (RGEI), is a holding company with its activities ranging from paper,palm oil, construction, and energy business sectors, owning papermaker April and palm oil firm Asian Agri. It is believed to be also well connected in Indonesia. It has been reported that APRIL is related to one of the eight companies involved in the open burning in RIAU recently, in HERE. Updates on 23-10-2012: YB Datuk Awang Adek, the Deputy Minister of Finance, was replying to the points raised by MPs during the Committee Stage Budget 2013 debate this evening. He was unable to furnish Parliament with all the replies as he was not well and he has promised to provide written replies to all the points raised during the said debate. However, he managed to speak for about an hour. He did inform Parliament that a Special Task Force headed by the Attorney-General has collected all the information regarding the foreign fund from Mr George Sorros that was subsequently given to Suaram and Malaysiakini and asked MPs to wait for the actions to be taken on this matter. Yours truly will publish once yours truly has been given the reply on the points raised on the consultancy fees paid to Landor Associates and Ogilvy & Mather.

Yours truly has been questioning about the consultancy fees paid by MAS to Landor Associates and Ogilvy & Mather but the top management of MAS is not only keeping mum but hiding behind non-disclosure or secrecy clause in the agreement.   For the background information please read in   HERE. The re-branding of MAS was done in a haste without the approval of the Board  when En Al-Ishal Ishak was the  SVP Marketing and Promotion.  Yours truly has been informed by reliable sources that En Al-Ishal Ishak who left MAS last month has recently joined AirAsia.

MAS Board is answerable for the change of MAS livery

Throughout the years, MAS livery/logo has been changed for good reasons and with the approval of the Board and Cabinet.
This is the new logo/livery that has been changed for no good reason.

There is MAS Board meeting this morning at 10:00 am. Hopefully the Board will be transparent and provide answers to the questions posed for the past week which are still unanswered. Looking at the budget for Marketing and Promotions budget stands at about RM560 million for 2012, the cost of designing and re-branding may be several million Ringgit was a small figure.

After the MAS-AirAsia share swap and CCF have been inked by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar (Amok), the MD for Khazanah,, MAS was managed by an Exco comprising of En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof aka Danny, the Amok’s crony and Ex-business partner in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun both from AirAsia Sdn Bhd representing Tune Air Sdn Bhd. That was the arrangement agreed to by Amok. Several days after the inking of the said secret share swap and CCF, Rashdan flew to London to commit MAS to sponsor QPR for 18 million Pounds, in HERE.
