Another poor attempt at spinning!

Are they still smiling now?

Updated on 18-11-2011: YB Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister of Transport, said yesterday that the Cabinet had approved the increase in charges in February 2009 and the delay in imposing the new rates had caused the tax payers RM180 millions a year in subsidizing international travelers. There had been a lot of other increases done by the airlines quietly and nobody is making noise, said the Minister in respond to Dr Spinner’s dissatisfaction through the social media. Read HERE for the increases in AirAsia’s hidden charges. The Government should stop entertaining private airlines’ business model just for them to make profits at the expense of tax payers.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes’ (Tony) contention is that the RM7.oo increase is too much to pay for LCCT which he likens to an “airconditioned horse stable” on Twitter.   The hike also affect travelers and he claimed that it was unjustified and that it would affect his business. He said on Twitter. “…RM25 for services in LCCT? What a rip off! It’s an air-conditioned horse stable!’ He said on his Faebook, “AirAsia has been fighting to make them cheaper for common man. Airport taxes are paid by Malaysians and passengers. The money doesn’t go to AirAsia but MAHB.”

Parliamentary Questions For October Session 2011

Updated on 22-9-2011 @ 6:10: Please go to Outsyed The Box to read “7 reasons why Khazanah should not undertake the share swap between MAS and AirAsia by troubleshooter”. It is very interesting to read the seven reasons in the said article. Perhaps YB Tan Sri Nor Mohamad Yacob, the former very powerful Minister of  Finance II under the Badawi’s Administration, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah, Tan Sri Md Nor Md Yusof, the then MD of MAS during the famous WAU and the newly crowned Chairman of MAS after the secret share swap, En Mohammed Rahsdan Yusof, co-founder of BinaFikir Sdn Bhd with Tan Sri Azman, Datuk Azman Yahya, the reappointed MAS director of Scomi fame, can learn a thing or two from the said articles. After reading the said article, it is hoped that the abovenamed personalities will see the light and stop the secret share swap and reverse all the recent decisions that were detrimental to MAS/Firefly i.e. cancelation of Firefly’s full load flights during festive season, termination of Firefly’s profitable routes from JB to KK and Kuching, the RM18 sponsorship of home jersey for QPR,  and the most recent termination of MAS profitable route from KLIA to Bandung (Indonesia) and others that have not been exposed. Tan Sri Nor Yakop, Tan Sri Azman, Rashdan & Tan Sri Md Nor: Spare YAB PM, Please!

After inking the secret MAS - AirAsia share swap agreement, they were all smiling at the rakyat! They look like a happy family. Don't they? From left: Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Tan Sri Md Nor Md Yusof, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes

The sudden announcement of the secret MAS – Air Asia share swap was a repeat of the sale of the 70% of MAS Catering Sdn Bhd (MCSB) some eight years ago in 2003, aka “Golden Era” for the lucky few!. The said sale of MCSB was sealed during the time of DATO’ MD NOR bin MD YUSOF (as he then was), the then the Managing Director of MAS. He was also instrumental in the commissioning of BinaFikir Sdn Bhd to restructure MAS under the pretext of transforming MAS into an “asset light airline” under the project name “Widespread Assets Un-Bundling” aka “WAU”, in HEREWAU! MAS definitely got lighter and lighter after being WAUed by the Bina dulu, tak Fikir langsung!

Cardiff City FC with Malaysia as its logo. Thank you Berjaya Group. Please teach En Rashdan a thing or two about patriotism.

En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof aka Danny (Rashdan) (sounded very English – must be of English upbringing with great principles), the newly crowned Executive Director of MAS has done tremendous things to MAS. But I am not too sure whether he was doing what he did so far for MAS or AirAsia / AirAsia X Sdn Bhd. I am still trying to figure it out. I am sure that you are also trying to figure it out too. Rashdan, I know you are trying very very hard to BINA MAS but you ada Fikirkah?

The net profit for ASTRO as at 31-01-2010 was RM689 million!

None of the questions posed by me here regarding the monopoly by Astro regarding Pay TV when I was debating the 2011 Budget  debate last week have been answered by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Multimedia & Culture, YB Datuk Joseph Sallang Gandum.  We all know that Astro is a monopoly in the Pay TV industry and there was no or very little control over it. So far we can see that Astro is allowed to air tv commercials when other Pay TV compnaies were not allowed to do so.  Why the special privileges given to Astro and not others?
