Yours truly has been alerted by Anak Malaysia that a Petition Campaign has been launched against the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap and the “Comprehensive Collaborative Framework” (CCF). The said secret share swap and CCF were the brainchild of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, and his ex-business partner of BinaFikir Sdn Bhd and crony, En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof a.k. Danny (Rashdan). After a short span of 8 years BinaFikir Sdn Bhd was sold to Maybank Bhd for a whooping RM8 million

Since 2004 there were complaints of “Misleading Pricing” in AirAsia’s website!

In the story of Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) having filed a suit against AirAsia for its misleading pricing in its website, AFP has stated that AirAsia could not be reached for comment. This was most unusual by AirAsia’s standard. Read in HERE. However, a few days later, AirAsia has responded with a press release stating that “… we took corrective action and are focussed on ensuring that our customers have all relevant information on our fares…” For full report please read in  HERE Well, yours truly leave it to the readers to judge whether this is true.

MYCC has commenced investigations into the “STRATEGIC ALLIANCE” between MAS & AirAsia

Finally, the Malaysian Competition Act 2011 is now in full force after 1-1-2012. Syabas to Malaysian Competition Commission (MYCC) for commencing investigations into the so-called “Comprehensive Collaborative Framework” (CCF) under the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap agreements. Read in HERE.

Another nail in MAS coffin?

On 28 July 2010 under the leadership of YM Tengku Azmil, MAS signed an agreement with Lembaga Tabung Haji to provide Haji Charter services to Jeddah and Madina for the 2010 / 2011 Haji Season. Read HERE. Yours truly believes that MAS has been providing the Haji Charter services since 1960 as part of its national service which should be applauded. Your truly has just been informed from a reliable source that its New Business Plan is not going to renew the said Haji Charter services from 2012 onwards due to the same old story that it was “UNPROFITABLE”. It was for the same reason that MAS had terminated the Firefly’s routes for its jet services from JB to East Malaysia and MAS routes from Kota Kinabalu to cities in Japan, Korea, Australia and etc.

MAS paid 8 month bonus in 2010 to Firefly staff!

On 21-11-2011 MAS MD, En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (AJ), told the Public Account Committee (PAC) in the presence of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the ex-business partner of Rashdan when they were in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, that Firefly made a loss of RM89 million! Yours truly has been reliably informed that as a mark of appreciation of the Firefly’s overall staff performance last year, MAS management rewarded members of staff of Firefly with bonuses from as high as 8 month and as low as 4 month salaries based on their respective performance.

MAS paid US$3.35 million under anti-trust law in US

Updated @ 12:30 am 15-12-2011: MyCC to investigate into the MAS -AirAsia share swap comes Jan 1, HERE.

MAS has announced on 18-02-2010 that 0n 16-2-2010 it had received a complaint filed in the US District Court for Eastern District of New York on behalf of Benchmark Export Services and six other plaintiffs against MAS and 11 other defendants on the allegations of price fixing airfreight shipping services and fuel surcharge and etc. MAS has denied such infringement. On 11-7-2011 MAS paid US$3.35 million as an out of Court settlement which can be considered as the lowest settlement sum under anti-trust laws.

On 9-12-2011 Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister, YB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri told the nation that Malaysian Competition Commission (MYCC), which will be headed by YA Tan Sri Siti Norma Yaakob (a former Chief Judge of Malaya), will consult members of the public before the implementation of the Competition Act 2010 on 1-1-2012.
