Yours truly went to the same mamak stall for a teh tarik this noon and someone has just passed the e-mail entitled “Stay Focused In Our Journey” from MAS Group CEO, which is still warm from the oven.


En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (AJ), the Group CEO of MAS and his top management have been bragging that MAS has managed to get more passengers to travel on MAS. Of course, the numbers game was the brainchild of AJ and his “Bollywood and Hollywood stars“. What is the point of gaining more passengers with no yield recorded except another loss of RM375 for the 3rd quarter of 2013 (July to September). Any person with modicum of intelligence could get the numbers over night if one just to embark on slashing of the fares with no other plans in hand.

Yours truly is pleased to learn that at last on 8-9-2013 Alwafeer Air, a Jeddah based chartered airline, was ordered by the Court in Jeddah to pay all the outstanding wages within 60 days to the 32 cabin crews and pilots. Yours truly would like to congratulate the 32 ex-MAS staffs for their success in the pursuit of their outstanding hard earned salaries, which Alwafeer Air owed them for years.

On 8-8-2011 the MAS-AirAsia share swap was inked by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah, and Tan Sri Tony Fernandes of AirAsia. The the Advisor of the said share swap was none other than Dato’ Seri Nazir Razak of CIMB. On 6-9-2013 both MAS and AirAsia were fined RM10 million each for “collaborating to integrate some routes in which they had earlier competed” under the said share swap. Part 1 was about the inking of the said MAS -AirAsia share swap with the advice from Datuk Seri Nazir Razak / CIMB and Bain & Co, HERE and Part 2 was the chronology of events after the said share swap before the appointment of AJ as Group CEO of MAS, HERE.

Updates @ 9:30 pm on 19-9-2013: On 15-9-2011 The MD of Khazanah Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar has been quoted to have said that “The recently inked home jersey sponsorship with Barclay Premier club Queen Park Rangers is a good deal for the national carrier”. He also told newsman that “We think that we got a good deal to stand on its own commercially. I think all the numbers are there, we just need to add value”. Read HERE.
Yours truly believe that at that material time many Malaysians also share the same thoughts as Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, who is a known to be a corporate GURU in Malaysia. Many have claimed that Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar through his BinaFikir‘s “WAU” had also saved MAS from the brink. Please read below the events after 18-8-2011 where MAS was supposed to pay £3.2 million more than AirAsia for the said sponsorship and got less for it. Was it a good deal after all?
