TF didn’t tell the whole truth about AirAsia X & RAS

One not telling the truth and the other condoning it!

Updated: 25-10-2011 Please read the article quoted from Business Time report dated 21-7-2006AirAsia not the ‘golden child’. You will see from this report how AirAsia got all the helps (i.e. AirAsia was given 91 trunk routes and etc) from the Badawi’s Administration under the so-called “domestic air rationalisation exercise” and AirAsia grew at the expense of MAS.

Below was what Tan Sri Tony Fernandes had been reported to have said as reported by the Star on 26-4-2007 when the then Minister of Transport, Datuk Chan Kong Choy, announced that FAX/AirAsia X Sdn Bhd had to return the Rural Air Services (RAS) in Sabah and Sarawak to MAS.

“Fernandes said FAX would be launching AirAsia Long Haul operations soon, and that it would be too distracting to operate turbo-propeller aircraft as well.”

Who is the CEO of MAS?

Is Datuk Kamarudin Meranun the defacto CEO of MAS?

It would appear that the defacto CEO of MAS is Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, who is also the Deputy CEO of AirAsia Bhd and recently appointed Non-Executive Director of MAS after the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap was inked on 9-8-2011.  Yours truly was surprised that a Non-Executive Director of MAS was speaking as though he is the CEO of MAS.  Even the powerful En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, the whiz kid and Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar‘s former business partner in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, is extremely tame after the appointment of En Ahmad Jauhari as the CEO of MAS.

Dr Wafi: MAS employees questioning the wisdom of the “matrimony”

The learned Dr Wafi Nazrin Tan Sri Abdul Hamid, who is an expert in Competition Law

Below are the latest exchanged of e-mails between Dr Wafi Nazrin Tan Sri Abdul Hamid (Dr Wafi) and En Matdiah Mohammad, the Secretary of MASE. By right Dr Wafi should not feel so jittery about the outflow of informations from MAS if the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap really meant to save MAS i.e. encouraging collaboration between MAS/AirAsia and not to stifle MAS/Firefly. As a professional, Dr Wafi should call a spade and spade. The outflow of informations from MAS employees are nothing if compare to the informations that are accessible to the directors of MAS. Dr Wafi should be more concerned about the outflow of information to the competitors of MAS unless he knew that the spirit of the secret share swap and the so-called “Collaborative Framework” were meant to stifle MAS and Firefly indirectly.

Rashdan proudly attended the QPR jersey sponsorship press conference

Extreme right is En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, the newly crowned Executive Director of MAS after the famous secret share swap . Just look at this picture, he was dominated by AirAsia girls. MAS has nothing to show in this press conference yesterday. This was how En Mohhamed Rashdan Yusof was looking after the best interest of MAS! Thank you Rashdan for being an obedient servant!

Yesterday En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof aka Danny (Rashdan), the newly appointed Executive Director of MAS after the the MAS-AirAsis share swap deal that was shrouded with secrecy, flew to London to sign RM18 million jersey sponsorship agreement with Queens Park Rangers (QPR) from yesterday for 2 years, in HERE. This didn’t come as a surprise. Well, 6 days after signing the said secret share swap, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes was reported to have bought 51% of QPR, in HERE. On the same day, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes (Tony) of AirAsia Bhd and Mr Briatore, the former QPR’s chairman, watched QPR being trounced at home by Bolton Wanderer with a score line of 4-0 at home. Perhaps this was a clear warning to the YAB Datuk Seri Najib’s Government:  “Beware of good samaritan like Tony!”
